The symbolic and meaningful visit of President-elect of European Commission Juncker gave hope to the government which considers that it will have a valuable ally with great prestige and potential influence on situations for the upcoming difficult period.

The government received good news from Brussels regarding the prospect to change the whole framework of Greek economy by abolishing Troika and replacing it with a purely European task force that will monitor and review every six months rather than every three months a reform program prepared by the Greek government which will be in accordance with EU.

In this way, Greek government will be able to claim that “the memorandum period has ended now, and Greece enters a long period of growth while Greek debt has been arranged”.
Voting for the multi-bill, the government closed all pending issues for this month and is prepared for the meeting with representatives of Troika in Paris during the first week of September. The goal is clear: to convince the representatives of lenders to approve Greece’s plan to proceed to tax relief measures and other relief measures. Although no polls are currently carried out, government officials know that the climate created in society is negative due to high taxes and continued reduction in wages and pensions.
